I am Chunxiao Xu
I am a Bay Area UX designer currently on the Cisco, Crosswork Network Automation team, where I help thousands of services providers manage their networks efficiently. I believe great design should be understandable, useful, and aesthetically refined down to the smallest detail.
β
I specialize in interaction design with a strong passion for visual and 3D design. My experience spans from crafting an event planning app for a seed-stage startup to designing a web analytics dashboard used by over 30,000 users to track business KPIs.
β
Aside from product design, I am an outdoor lover, a bit of a climber, an aspiring architect, low-key a digital artist and a sweets addict(I don't drink boba tea, I inhale boba tea π
).
My journey to becoming a UX designer
It all started with drawing at a young age, doodles and cartoon became a form of expression.
π©π»βπ¨ A passion for designI studied architectural design, during my education, I discovered a passion for design spaces and shapes for expression and creativity.
π Working as a designerI worked as an architectural designer, where I learned about deadlines, fast paced projects, and project management.
π Emerge into users' mindsetAt work, we often researched building usage, performance, and ways people experience the spaces. Emerging myself into the space and mindset of the user, allowing me to experience design through the eyes of others and understanding how the design impacts their life.
π Empathize with usersNow, as a product designer building digital products through a different medium. Having my experience as an architect allows me to connect and empathize with users. I gained a in-depth understanding of the way people interact and connect to design and how I can improve their experience.
